The planning and listed building consent applications proposed a flexible planning permission for the property to be used as either a medical clinic or office floor space, and for associated minor internal and external alterations to facilitate the change of use. 7.2. The application proposed no external alterations to the listed building, with the exception of the installation of a stair lift on the western elevation to facilitate disabled access to and from the building.
CSJ prepared a suite of supporting documentation, including Planning Statement and Design, Access & Heritage Statement. The key area of concern related to the impact of the proposal on the plan form of the building, much of which was as originally built. Via negotiations with the Conservation Officer, an acceptable arrangement was found in order to provide an acceptable scheme in heritage terms and for the intended occupiers, and consent was issued via delegated powers accordingly.
