Extension to Senate House, University of Bristol

CSJ Planning Consultants Ltd have secured planning consent for the construction of a double-storey infill extension to Senate House within the University of Bristol Precinct. Senate House, built as part of the post war expansion of the University in 1961, sits within a central location within the University Precinct. The building is located in the Tyndall’s Park Conservation Area and is close to a number of listed buildings. Working with FCB Studios, a 360 sq. m courtyard extension at double height has been designed in order to facilitate a number of new uses within Senate House as part of the University of Bristol Master Plan. This high-quality infill extension respects the existing building and the local setting whilst not prejudicing amenity or local heritage character.
